GameSync TF2 6v6 League
1.      Registration of Teams
Teams that wish to register for the league are required to have their team representative or team captain to register a username at GameSync’s TF2 Forum. Announcement of the League and its registration period will be publicized on the front page of www.gamesync.net as well as in the TF2 GameSync Forum’s events page.
When the registration period is open, a forum post will be published on the forums requesting interested teams to post their team information. The format is stated below:

There is no limit as to how many teams a clan wishes to send. The maximum amount of players in each team is currently capped at 9 (6 first team players, 3 substitutes), minimum 6.
2.      Member Names

Member game handles containing any of the following will not be tolerated: profanity, racism, sexism, drug use, or general vulgarity. Players found with offensive names will be contacted by an official and asked to edit their name to something more appropriate. If a member is found to be using a handle that is deemed offensive after being asked to have it changed by an official, that member will be issued a warning. If the rule is violated a second time, that member will be removed from the event.

3.      Captain

The Team Captain are in control of all aspects of the team and have an obligation to not only himself but to the other members on the "TEAM" to perform and lead. The Team Captain has the right to add or remove members on his team at any time during the roster unlock period.

4.      Vice Captain

In the absence of the team captain / manager, the assistant team captain is in charge and responsible for all team actions. The assistant team captain must be announced to the umpiring admin to avoid confusion.

5.      Captain Changes

Team captain changes are permitted if the team captain has been terminated from the event by an official, or if the team captain decides to leave the team. At that time, a new team captain may be assigned.

6.      Team Rights to Terminate a Captain or Manager (Mutiny Rule)

The team and the members on that team reserve the right to oust the captain at anytime. For a team to enact this rule, 75% of the ACTIVE members on the team have to submit a petition containing:

    1. Team Name
    2. Current Captain's or Manager's Name
    3. Your Active Email
    4. Your UserName
    5. A written explanation why you would like the current captain or manager removed from the team
7.      Rosters

All team rosters are established during the registration period prior to the start of the league. Changes to team rosters may take place during the registration period and during the roster unlock period. Teams are required to have the minimum number of members required to play a match to be considered and ACTIVE team (at least 6 members).

8.      Roster Unlock Period

Rosters are open to addition and removal of players from every Wednesday (0001 hrs) to Thursdays (2359hrs). Rosters will be maintain in the league section of the GameSync Forum

 

League officials shall take note of the additions and changes via the league section of the forum.

9.      Team Activation

To have a team activated:

    1. The minimum number of members needed to play in a match MUST be on the teams. roster
    2. ALL members MUST have Unique ID's registered to their accounts
    3. If a team does not have the minimum number of members required to participate on their team roster before the close of the league registration, that team will be removed from the event and members moved into an inactive state until they join an active team. Teams that are activated will be placed into the league for commencement.

 

10.  Team Names

11.  Team Name Changes

Team name changes are allowed at anytime, but are limited to one (1) change per season.

12.  Sportsmanship

All members are required to uphold and observe a universal level of sportsmanship. Any unsportsmanlike action which includes but is not limited to (Racism, Profanity, Rude Acts, Vulgar Acts, Acts of Belligerence, and Disrespect of an Official) may be reviewed and are reason for filing a disputed.

Rulings on sportsmanship are subject to official interpretation. If a member or team is found in violation of this rule the following actions will happen:

Minor infractions as judged by an official: Formal warning to player/captain

Major infractions as judged by an official: (1) match suspension

Sever infractions as judged by an official: (2) match suspension

Any accusations of unsportsmanlike conduct must be submitted as a dispute and will be investigated by league officials. UNSPORTSMANLIKE CONDUCT DISPUTES WILL NEVER RESULT IN ROUNDS BEING REVERSED!

13.  Game Play Environment Requirements

Members and team captains MUST comprehend and follow all rules. Ignorance of the rules is not an excuse for a violation. The game environment can be best defined as any and all files used to control, influence, or manage game play

14.  League Points System
 Win = 3 points
Draw = 1 point
Loss = 0 points
Each team will play against each other 2 times (subjected to change by officials).
15.  Map Selection
1 standard map will be played through out the match week. The map shall be decided by a poll in the league forum. The cycle of maps are limited to cp_well, cp_granary, ctf_2fort, cp_gravelpit and cp_dustbowl. Once a map has been polled as the map of the week, it will not be available for the poll until one full cycle of the map has been completed.
16.  Models / Skins

ALL members MUST use default models. If a member is found using ANY NON-STANDARD models during an event match, it will be considered a violation of the rules and will result in a loss and termination from the event. This includes ALL skins as well.

17.  Sprites

ALL members MUST use default sprites. If a player is found using ANY NON-STANDARD sprite during an event match, it will be considered a violation of the rules and will result in a loss and termination from the event.

18.  Configuration Files

Members ARE allowed to edit their user configuration files in the native game directory. Members ARE NOT allowed to have any other configuration files inside the native game directory. Any other configuration files found maybe considered a violation of the rules and could result in a loss, and one (1) week suspension.

19.  Third Party Applications

The use of any third party application and or program to influence or manipulate the game environment is strictly prohibited. Any such situations will be regarded as a cheating violation and will result in a loss and immediate termination from the event.

20.  Custom Sprays

The use of custom sprays, while frowned upon, may be used so long as they are not:

    1. Sprays that replicate models
    2. Sprays that replicate map features or textures
    3. Sprays that display pornography
    4. Sprays that are deemed unsportsmanlike

The use of the above sprays will be considered a violation of the rules and will and will result in a loss, and a member warning, and possible termination.

21.  Message Modes and Voice Communications

In game chat, while frowned upon, is not illegal so long as it is done in a positive nature. All Message Mode chat must be kept to a minimum and may not include any profane or derogatory comments. Message Mode violations are subject to the rules of sportsmanship.

The use of the in-game voice communication software like Team Speak and Ventrilo are the preferred forms of voice communication and are also permitted.

22.  Match Scheduling

Matches are to be scheduled and played on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the planned league season. Failure to schedule and play any event match by then could result in forfeit losses for both teams.

Team Captains are required to contact their opponent through the GameSync TF2 league forum before match day Friday to establish the match time and the designated server(s). While communicating via other third party applications (IRC, Steam, MSN, etc.) is commonplace, League Officials will only accept communication logs stated in the GameSync Forums. Any team having trouble scheduling a match within these guidelines needs to contact the officials for assistance.

23.  Match Rescheduling

Teams may reschedule a match date and time before match day Friday by stating the changed within the forum post. After the scheduling deadline day has passed, teams CANNOT reschedule their match.

24.  Match Reporting

At the completion of the match, the umpiring admin and team Captain from both teams MUST report the match final score at the GameSync Forum, under the same post as their match scheduling post. Umpiring Admins shall report all forfeit wins on behalf of the teams.

25.  Reporting False Match Scores

Team Captains are required to report all scores as accurately as possible. Intentionally reporting false or erroneous scores may result in having the match overturned (regardless if the match was played or not). Multiple violations of this rule will result in the termination of the team from the event.

26.  Forfeits

Forfeit wins will be issued for the following reasons only:

    1. Teams that do not have their matches scheduled and played by the match deadline day
    2. Teams cannot field the required minimum number of 5 members needed to start a match within fifteen minutes of the scheduled match time
    3. Teams do not have enough members due to members suspension or termination
    4. The team you are scheduled to play has become inactive

Any team that receives three (3) forfeit losses may be removed from the event. Teams are allowed to have an unlimited amount of forfeit wins during the season. Umpiring admins shall be responsible for the confirmation of forfeit wins

27.  Spectators

NO spectators are allowed in a match server while a "LIVE" event match is underway with the exception of the umpiring admins. Any person interested in watching matches should do so via the spectator source tv.

28.  Servers Reservation
Priority of server reservation will be given to teams in order of chronological order of the scheduled matches (If team A vs B is at 2000 hrs, they are given priority over team C vs D which scheduled their match at 2100hrs)
29.  Server Crashes
If a server crashes during any "LIVE" event match, all rounds fully completed will count towards the final score. All remaining rounds of the event match will be played out on a new server using the appropriate game configurations. This rule will continue to stand in the event of a second server crash.

28. Game Exploits

It is illegal to intentionally utilize any game exploits. Specific game exploits will be included in the game specific rules. For any exploits used that are not explicitly covered, umpiring admins have discretion to determine the intention and extent of the violation. Umpires have full discretion to modify the exact penalty to suit the offense.

30.  Cheating

Cheating in any form is considered a violation of the rules and will result in immediate member termination. Cheating / Hacking is considered any manipulation of server configurations, client configurations, models, skins, weapons, sounds, or anything that alters the predetermined settings listed within the rules. This includes aim bots, wall hacks, speed hacks, ESP hacks, or any third party programs. Umpiring Officials have the final word on what is deemed a cheat or hack. Any players caught cheating in the league will be suspended for a minimum of 8 matches.

31.  Player Ringing (Smurfing)

Using any non registered member to play in any match is considered a violation of the rules. If a team is caught with a RINGER it will result in the following course of action:

    1. A team warning will be issued
    2. The match will be overturned
    3. The offending ringer will be banned for a period from joining the league
    4. The member who rang if it can be determined will be given a suspension
    5. The captain of the offending team will be suspended

If you or one of your members is going to be playing from a place other than their original point of registration, that member needs to notify a league official. Failure to do so will result in a ringing suspension unless there is sufficient evidence to prove otherwise.

32.  Disputes

Only the Team Captain has the right to dispute a member(s) or team that they feel is in violation of the rules. All disputes must be filed within twenty-four (24) hours of the completion of the match. A match must be reported regardless of whether a dispute is being filed. If the dispute is filed after the twenty-four (24) hour period, the dispute will be disregarded. A ruling will be made one (1) week after the requested POV (point of view) demos are received by the league official. At that time, an email with the details of the ruling will be sent to all parties involved in the dispute.

33.  Dispute Submission Detail

If you suspect a member(s) of cheating, be prepared to list exactly where you think this occurred in the match. Please supply as much detail in the comment section of the dispute form as to provide the officials with the most accurate information possible. IF A VALID DESCRIPTION IS NOT PROVIDED THEN THE DISPUTE WILL BE CONSIDERED VOID!

34.  Evidence Requests

If a dispute has been filed, league officials will contact all the parties being disputed and request all POV (point of view) demos. The parties involved will then have forty-eight (48) hours to submit all requested files to the official in charge of the dispute. While a majority of disputes can be resolved from this information, there is the chance that server logs may be requested to further assist in determining a ruling.

If a player has been requested to submit demos to an official for whatever reason, the player has forty-eight (48) hours to comply. If the player does not have the requested information, THE FOLLOWING PENALTIES WILL BE ENFORCED:

    1. 1st Offense: Warning + match overturn
    2. 2nd Offense: 1 match suspension + match overturn
    3. 3rd Offense: 3 match suspension + match overturn

IF A MATCH HAS BEEN OVERTURNED AS A RESULT OF VIOLATING THIS RULE, THE MATCH SCORE WILL NEVER BE REOVERTURNED EVEN IF DEMOS ARE RECEIVED AT A LATER DATE AND CLEAR ANY OR ALL MEMBER OF ANY AND ALL ALLIGATIONS



35.  Exploitation of League Rules

If a team attempts to manipulate or exploit a rule in any way other than for its intended use, officials reserve the right to make a final ruling and interpretation on the rule in question for the given event match and\or dispute.

36.  Rule Changes

League officials reserve the right to modify the rules as needed. This includes changes due to software updates or releases, and all other changes deemed necessary the panel of officials. Teams should check the rules on a regular basis and prior to every match to ensure they are in complete compliance. Teams must understand that the rules listed are guidelines that GameSync will use to ensure fair and competitive play. All the rules are subject to interpretation.

37.  Player POV (First Person Demos)

All players and team captains are required to record first person demos of all event matches. You must have a separate demo for each half of play. All players are required to hold first person demos for at least seven (7) days. After the seventh (7th) day, the demos may be discarded.

If a player has been requested to submit demos to an official for whatever reason, the player has forty-eight (48) hours to comply. If the player does not have the requested information, THE FOLLOWING PENALTIES WILL BE ENFORCED:

    1. 1st Offense: Warning + match overturn
    2. 2nd Offense: 1 match suspension + match overturn
    3. 3rd Offense: 3 match suspension + match overturn

IF A MATCH HAS BEEN OVERTURNED AS A RESULT OF VIOLATING THIS RULE, THE MATCH SCORE WILL NEVER BE REOVERTURNED EVEN IF DEMOS ARE RECEIVED AT A LATER DATE AND CLEAR ANY OR ALL MEMBER OF ANY AND ALL ALLOGATIONS

 

38.  Class Restrictions

The class restrictions are now as follows:

2 Soldiers

2 Snipers

2 Scouts

2 Pyros

1 Medic

1 Heavy

1 Spy

1 Demoman

1 Engineer

NOTE: If at any time during the match a team uses more than the maximum number of any class, a warning shall be issued, on the 3rd warning, the offending team will be disqualified and awarded a loss for that map.

Refusal to switch classes by a member of any team regardless of the number of warnings will result in the match being overturned (30secs past the initial warning).

39.  Use of Unlockables
The use of unlockable weapons is not allowed during any league matches
40.  Individual Map Rules

Each competitive map in TF2 has its own unique rules. Please review and understand the rules of each map before competing.

a.      ctf_2fort

                                                               i.      Two 20 minute halves with a cap limit of 3, the first team to get 4 caps or the most points after both 20 minutes half wins the match. (1) capture = (1) point.

 

b.      cp_dustbowl

                                                               i.      Both teams will attack and defend once. The team with the most points after 1 set wins. There is no time limit for this map.

 

c.      cp_granary

                                                               i.      There will be 2 halves for granary. Either playing to 3 points or 20 minutes will end the first half, resulting in the switching of sides. First team to 4 points wins the match or the highest score after 40 minutes.

d.      cp_gravelpit

                                                               i.      Both teams will attack and defend twice. The team with the most points after 4 rounds wins. There is no time limit for this map.

e.      cp_well

                                                               i.      There will be 2 halves for well. Either playing to 3 points or 20 minutes will end the first half, resulting in the switching of sides. First team to 4 points wins the match or the highest score after 40 minutes.


NOTE: All CP MAPS will be played until one team reaches the amount of points needed for that specific map. If the time limit expires, the score of the match will be reported as the score when the time limit expired. NO SUDDEN DEATH ROUNDS WILL BE PLAYED.

A match is considered "COMPLETE" once one team wins the required amount of rounds in regular match play.

41.  Players Required To Start the Match

All matches are to be played with a minimum of five (5) players per team. If a team does not have the required minimum of five (5) players at match time, a win will be awarded to the other team. No team will be allowed to play with less than the required minimum number of players unless the match has already started and a player has dropped.

 

A team which has failed to field sufficient players for 3 matches will be dropped from the league.

42.  Match Side

A scout melee fight between the team captains will determine the rights as to what side they want to start on. ALL teams are required to play one (1) half as BLUE and one (1) half as RED.

43.  Halftime Guidelines

After finishing the first half of the game, teams are allowed an optional five (5) minute break. Team leaders should exchange information regarding the second half (dedicated server IP and password) if necessary. Ideally, dedicated server information for the second half should be known in advance. Half time gives an opportunity to finalize server information in case of changes. If a team fails to show up in the agreed upon server or fails to have the required minimum number of players, that team will forfeit the remaining rounds.

44.  Match Restart Guidelines

Once a half is deemed LIVE, teams are NOT allowed to restart the match, unless a player drops from the server within the first minute of play. If the server is reset after the first minute.

45.  Player Connectivity Issues

Respective teams are responsible for players who experience connectivity problems. Teams should have back-up players ready to join if a player gets disconnected or lags out. If a player lags out the server should be paused immediately. If the lag out occurs within the first minute of play, the half is to be restarted.

46.  Players Leaving Early

If an entire team leaves the server prior to conclusion of the match, any remaining rounds will be forfeited, including the current unfinished round.

47.  Sudden Death

At no point in any match will sudden death be played.

48.  Player Substitutions

Player substitutions are allowed at anytime during the match. A player is only allowed to join the dedicated server AFTER the player whom he/she is substituting for has left the server. Failure to do so and allowing a reasonable advantage may result in a loss of rounds.

49.  SRCTV

SRCTV Guidelines
SRCTV must be configured with a minimum delay of 120 seconds. It is the team’s responsibility to check the SRCTV delay before the start of the match. Once a match goes LIVE there can be no dispute filed for a SRCTV delay less than 120 seconds. However, if while the match is LIVE a team notices that the SRCTV delay is less than 120 seconds, the SRCTV must be kicked by the following round

50.  Game Map Exploits

It is illegal to use a map glitch/exploit for one's advantage when it was not in the original intent of the game or mapmaker. Teams and/or players found in violation of these rules will be penalized for a determined amount of rounds from the final match score. All round reversals are on a case-by-case basis and a league official will specify whether or not reversed rounds need to be re-played on a later date. Refusing to replay a reversed round(s) will result in the automatic forfeit of the round(s) reversed. Additionally, team termination and/or player suspension(s) may occur (suspension lengths and team termination are up to the judgment of the officials).

It is LEGAL to shoot through floors and walls where it is possible.

Killing during the set-up time is ALLOWED on any map where it is possible. This includes rocket jumping on the trains on cp_well or sniping through the cracks.

51.  Other Game Exploits

It is illegal to intentionally utilize any game exploits. Game exploits include, but are not limited to, the exploits defined in this section. For any exploits used that are not explicitly covered, officials have discretion to determine the intention and extent of the violation. The default penalty may be a reversal of up to three (3) rounds and possible suspension of the offending player. Officials have full discretion to modify the exact penalty to suit the offense.
